First impression : The mat surface changes with use and proper care. So if your new mat doesn't seem 100% non-slip at first, don't worry: the final grip develops after a short training period.

Care and cleaning : Wipe regularly and especially after intensive use with a damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly. For deeper cleaning, Jade recommends using only its own mat cleaner , as this is specially tailored to the needs of Jade mats. Always allow the mat to dry thoroughly after cleaning, ideally hanging it over a clothes rack or the back of a chair.

Natural rubber mats should never be cleaned with soap or oily substances, as this will affect their slip resistance and damage the material. We also strongly advise against cleaning them in the washing machine.

Storage : Your Jade mat must be stored away from sunlight and extreme temperature changes, preferably in a yoga mat bag . Since natural rubber is very sensitive to sunlight, Jade generally advises against using the mats outside. If you don't use your mat for a long time, roll it out every now and then and wipe it with a damp cloth to prevent the natural rubber from drying out.

Smell : Natural rubber mats can have a strong or strong smell at first. The smell is typical of the natural rubber material and is an indication that no chemical odor binders were used in the production process. If the smell bothers you, it is best to let your new mat air out for 24 hours outside in a dry place or in a well-ventilated room protected from sunlight, ideally hanging over a clothes rack or the back of a chair. General information: Jade yoga mats are made of biodegradable natural rubber. This property results in natural wear and tear over the course of use. The lifespan of the Harmony depends on how intensively the mat is used and how it is cared for. Signs of abrasion caused by use after a while are normal, as the roughened surface is literally "sanded" by grinding movements (e.g. of the heels) - an effect similar to that of sandpaper. Since signs of abrasion are an effect of external, mechanical influences, the manufacturer's guarantee does not apply here.
