This type of filtration uses a process similar to a reverse osmosis system. The activated charcoal has an incredibly porous surface with tiny voids oriented in many directions - just 1 gram has an area of ​​more than 250m² (the size of a tennis court). The positive ions are attracted to impurities in the water (e.g. chlorine) on the negative surface of the carbon where they are held will. Conversely, the charcoal returns its natural minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium drains the water, softening the water and improving the taste.
